This is a Freight Train I have made recently for the Unreal 3 Mod Tactical Assault, where I am an Environment Artist.
It uses a single 2048 map it utilising Diffuse, Specular and Normal maps. The Normal map was mostly made using high polygon geometry which was baked onto the low polygon object. To help save space, the Wheels all share the same UV space. An AO map was also made during the baking process and incorporated into the Diffuse map.
It weighs in at 18600 Triangles and was created in 3ds Max, with Photoshop and CrazyBump for the Texturing. All these sceenshots are from the 3ds Max viewport, using a Realtime DirectX Shader.
