This is my first full Unreal 3 engine project and I have been using this piece to help learn this excellent engine. It is an on going project and isnt fully completed yet. It is of a destroyed bridge over a river, which is at night and light up by mobile floodlights. It weighs in at about 12,500 tris. The scene is divided up into 6 texture maps, 5 of which are 2048 x 2048. Each element has a Diffuse, Specular and Normal map. I used Mudbox to sculpt the broken concrete and 3ds Max for everything else.
The textures were created in Photoshop using my own photos, using tools like the clone tool and layer masks. I also used Ambient occlusion renders to enhance the diffuse maps. Some of the metal textures involved some images from cgtextures.com. Normal maps were created from a combination of texture baking with high polygon models, and also using the Nvidia Photoshop pulgin to get data from diffuse maps.
I plan to add the bank of the river, some grass past the gates and possibly a building.
I have included some screenshots from the Unreal 3 engine editor, renders from 3ds Max, and the texture maps.
